In consideration of permitting the Participant to take part in the one-week Swimming Cruise trip, as directed by the Swimming Cruise, the undersigned, for their own person, agrees as follows:

The undersigned hereby acknowledges and clearly agrees that he/she/they understand the nature of the trips;  that the Participant is qualified to participate, in good health (it is advisable for the undersigned to have received a paper proving his/her/their health status from a physician (a general practitioner or cardiologist) confirming that he/she/they are healthy and capable of participating in the specific activity in question), and in suitable physical condition to participate therein; that he/she/they is/are aware of any inherent risks and dangers associated with the trips; and that he/she/they, knowingly and voluntarily, completely accepts and assumes full responsibility for each of these risks and dangers and any other risks and dangers that could incur out of, or occur during, the Participant’s presence during the trip. 

More specifically, the Participant fully acknowledges that the trip is designed for people of a broad range of ages and abilities, who are in overall good health and physically and mentally fit, and who have an adequate background in swimming. The trips are carefully designed to be as safe as possible, and the swimming guides who supervise the daily swims are fully trained and qualified to administer first aid and have a Life Saving certificate. The undersigned agrees that as a minor he/she/they must have written and signed permission from a parent or other minder.

There is an element of unpredictable risk involved due to the nature of the trips, and the Participant is expected to acknowledge and accept the possibility of such risks and that the Swimming Cruise is not liable for any unpredictable event.

Additionally, it is noted that in the event that the Participant chooses to undertake any activities outside the planned and agreed-upon itinerary, either on their own or in cooperation with other trip and tour companies, the Swimming Cruise management shall not be considered liable for any event or consequence that may result during or after the aforementioned external activities.

As with regards to the Participant’s medical status, the nature of the trips necessitates that all Participants are in a competent state of physical and mental health. The above is assumed by the acceptance of the Terms and Conditions of Participation as well as the signing of the present form.

Any participant with a medical condition, however minor, which may affect them or other participants, bears the responsibility of notifying the Swimming Cruise team upon booking their trip.

Indicatively, the Swimming Cruise team should be fully aware of whether the Participant has any kind of disability, is under medication or has any medical condition, however minor, that may or may not in any way affect their participation. Should a medical condition arise after the trip booking, the Participant must inform the Swimming Cruise directing team of this change. 

This information, along with all the Participant’s personal details, shall remain confidential and be destroyed shortly after the end of the trip.

The directing team reserves the right to refuse individuals from participating in the trips if they consider them to be at risk.

Furthermore, it is noted that the Swimming Cruise team reserves the right to alter swim routes and itineraries in light of weather conditions for safety reasons. Open water swimming relies on good sea and weather conditions and continuously operates in consultation with weather forecast stations and an ongoing liaison with boat captains. Participants will be notified each day of any relevant modifications to the itineraries currently provided.

The undersigned have carefully read this assumption of risk, release and waiver of liability and participation agreement form. The undersigned fully understands this assumption of risk and consents to participate in the trips. The undersigned fully acknowledges that he/she/they is/are signing this form freely and voluntarily and finally, also agrees that in the case where any legal issue requires resolution, that resolution is to be found only in the law courts of Athens, Greece.
